A calm, relaxed eye! I see so many photos of horses faces on the Internet and on Facebook where their body language is clearly communicating somewhere on the spectrum of weak to strong stimulation of FEAR. Generally speaking, so many people haven’t developed their skill for reading ultra subtle body language communications in their horse.
Developing our skill in observing and interpreting their communications through their slight postural and body changes is one of the areas so crucial when training using systematic desensitisation and counter conditioning protocols.
So as to be able to remain under or at the individuals threshold level when changing their emotions to frightening stimuli, we need to get better at listening; and that means learning to see better!
This is just one of the many areas students cover in our online course on How Animals Learn, Feel & Communicate.
